You sit, and the altar is empty. The cold line for this night is written beside it. Five relics wait in the hand.
Keep the next relic and its weight joins memory. Offer the next relic and that weight becomes vows, while the card goes to ash. Take back one relic you already kept. It returns to the hand at half weight, once in the night, and the next keep of that same relic counts only half.
When the watches are finished, memory is set against the cold line. If memory is lower, the night ends.
